I have been the Chief Executive Officer at Capgemini Financial Services UK and Origin UK with full P&L and Balance Sheet accountability, and Chief Operating Officer at Royal Holloway College, University of London
At Origin I was latterly Executive Director, Global Services, with accountability for 12,000+ staff in 150+ offices worldwide. I sat on the Origin BV Executive Board. I was also Managing Director, Northern Europe, one of 5 regions in the company
While at KPMG I sat on the London and Southeast Region Consulting Management Board, was Partner in charge of Sales and Marketing for London and Southeast Region Management Consulting and Lead Partner of the Delivery Management Practice, responsible for some 100 staff engaged in the delivery of complex projects and programmes
At Baan I was President, Global Consulting, and at Vastera I was Senior VP, Global Consulting & International Operations
With Harvest Earnings I was Senior Vice President, Client Services and at EHS I was Managing Director
Mergers & Acquisitions
At Capgemini FS I took the lead role in the creation of FS SBU UK Ltd by merger and integration of Kanbay and Capgemini UK, with the creation and implementation of supporting systems and processes for the merged company for IT, Procurement, HR, Finance, Legal, Facilities, Administration and Professional Services and the successful office relocation to new premises within London
At Royal Holloway College, University of London, I played a leading role in the (ultimately called off) merger process with St George’s, University of London
At Origin I played a key role in cementing the Origin-Phillips C&P merger as well as in Origin’s organisational transformation process from geographically based to industry and service line based
I led the successful bid for the outsourcing, and subsequent integration into Origin of, ICI’s corporate IT department. This resulted in the integration into Origin of 400+ staff and a data centre in a deal worth £75 million over a five-year period
I had responsibility for the integration of 350 staff into Origin as a result of winning the British Coal outsourcing contract and the related acquisition of Compower
Information technology
I have managed significant IT consulting and operations units, particularly while Executive Director, Global Services at Origin, President, Global Consulting at Baan, Partner, Management Consulting at KPMG and Senior VP, Global Consulting & International Operations at Vastera
I have had full accountability for the IT operations of a company, as the function hass reported directly to me at Capgemini Financial Services and at Royal Holloway College, University of London
I have improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT function at numerous organisations during my work with Harvest Earnings and EHS Partners
I have extensive project management expertise, having been project manager ofsome of the largest and most complex IT implementations of the past twenty years, including those for the Barcelona Olympics, Sun Life and London Electricity
For CEGB, I spent a year as full time adviser to the IT Director Designate of National Power advising on a wide range of issues relating to operation as a private company, including IT strategy, IT staffing, decoupling of systems and selection and implementation of new systems to replace legacy systems
I have carried out numerous IT strategy studies, including ones for Breckland District Council, The Turkish Electricity Authority and Kuwait Finance House

I have had full accountability for the full range of traditional back office functions (including IT, Finance, Legal, HR, Corporate Communications, Procurement, Facilities) of a company, as those functions have reported directly to me at Capgemini Financial Services and at Royal Holloway College, University of London

Sales and Marketing
At KPMG I was Partner in charge of Sales and Marketing for London and Southeast Region Management Consulting
While in senior roles at KPMG, Origin and Baan I was responsible for leading many large scale sales pursuits. Notable successes included:
- Winning business worth in excess of $50 million at Sun Life, London Electricity, Barcelona Olympics, CEGB, National Power, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and many others while at KPMG
- Leading the successful bid for the outsourcing of ICI’s corporate IT department. This resulted in the integration into Origin of 400+ staff and a data centre in a deal worth £75 million over a five-year period
