During my career I have undertaken numerous many assignments in the Energy sector, including:
- For Energy East, the New York, NY based Gas & Electric Utility, full time participation in their IEExcellence project that delivered a sustainable annualised earnings impact in excess of $65 million (35% improvement in EBITDA). In addition, the project was successful in developing an Energy East wide corporate culture in what were previously six separate and autonomous state-based utilities. Led the process re-engineering that delivered significant operational improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT, Finance, Legal, Facilities and HR functions as well as leading the evaluation, selection and implementation planning project for an ERP system to provide the new enterprise backbone which resulted in selection of SAP
- Responsibility for the integration of 350 staff into Origin as a result of winning the British Coal outsourcing contract and the related acquisition of Compower
- For London Electricity, full time project management the design and development of new Customer Information Systems. During a 2.5 year project, managed a 500-man year, £40 million budget; with a team size peaking at 225 spread over three continents
- London based liaison manager for KPMG Middle East. This post entailed spending half time in the Middle East liaising with 15 offices in 8 countries and taking responsibility for London staff working on assignments in the region
- For ARAMCO, management of a project to implement Geographic Information Systems
- For Turkish Electricity, an Information Systems Strategy Study
- For CEGB, a year spent as full time adviser to the IT Director Designate of National Power advising on a wide range of issues relating to operation as a private company
- For National Power, selection of financial and management information systems
- For Qatar General Petroleum Corporation, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, full time management of long term projects implementing financial and management information systems based on large-scale software packages
